Aluminum Fingersplint from Dr. Paul Koch
This aluminum splint (aluminum thickness 1 mm), padded with foam on one side, is used to immobilize fingers. After measuring the required length, the necessary size is cut to fit. The splint should be cut long enough to overlap over the finger-tip dorsal-sidedly 3 – 4 cm. To avoid sliding off, it can be affixed to the finger in a semi-circular fashion with several band-aid strips.
Final fixation occurs with a gauze- or elastic-bandage
The bandage can be X-rayed, due to the aluminum. Rolls are available in lengths from 3 lft.

Comprilan from BSN
Patients with sensitive or damaged skin will put a premium on being able to tolerate compression bandages on the skin and on comfort in wearing them. Comprilan combines the ideal pressure effect of a short stretch bandage with the positive wearing characteristics of an all-cotton bandage.
- with short stretch
- ca. 90% stretchable
- 100% cotton
Comprilan is very kind to the skin, being capable of a ca. 90 % lengthwise stretch, with low resting pressure but high working pressure. It supports and activates the muscle pump, takes punishment, holds without the bandage ends fraying, and it can be sterilized.
Comprilan consists of 100 % cotton and can be washed multiple times.
Comprilan is suited for compression wraps for phlebological and lymphological indications, for supporting the muscle pump and to reduce venous or lymphatic swelling, as well as the following: chronic vein insufficiency (including lower leg ulcers and venous oedemas) operation on veins or vein stasis, thrombophlebitis, phlebothrombosis, varicose veins, and primary or secondary lymphooedemas.
Length of use: a few days to several weeks, subject to recommended change intervals.
Delta-Lite Conformable from BSN
Support bandages made of synthetic material for the care of fractures and injuries requiring immobilization.
Delta-Lite Conformable incorporates a fiberglass-based carrier that gives it special holding power.
Outstanding unrolling behavior and the highly-elastic carrier material make Delta-Lite Conformable the optimal bandage for rigid cast bandaging.
Because of excellent layer cohesion the bandage stays on securely even under elevated stress.
The polyurethane resins used are free of lubricant additives.
The provided latex-free hydrogel-coated gloves simplify form-shaping the bandage. The resin does not stick to the gloves so that instruments being used, for example, scissor handles, remain largely resin-free.
Immersion water temperatur:
ca. 20°C to 25°C (max. 27°C)
open time: ca. 3-5 minutes
Delta-Lite Conformable consists of a highly elastic glass fiber knit that is coated with a water-activated polyurethane resin.
- made of fiberglass
- simple and quick application
- easy to shape
- provides full support after 20 minutes
Dynacast Prelude from BSN

Dynacast Prelude consists of a fiberglass weave, coated with polyurethane resin and polypropylene padding.
Improved product characteristics with a new single-layer cast core!
Use for: partial or total immobilization for sprains; soft tissue, joint capsule, or ligament injuries; tendon tears and fresh fractures; for supporting soft tissue injuries and fissures of the upper extremities.

Rolta soft from HARTMANN
Rolta is a synthetic cotton bandage product with special characteristics that meet the demands of modern under-cushion bandaging technique. This assures that it will be up to the job when its use in treatment is indicated.
- ideal under plaster and cast bandages
- individual bulky roll
The frizzed, non-suctioning polyester fibers that make up Rolta exhibit high wadding elasticity.
This means Rolta retains its cushioning qualities even after has been under mechanical pressure for a long time and also under very moist conditions.
Rolta is skin-friendly, breathable and lets secretions pass and is also temperature compensating.
The bandage can be quickly and easily applied to all body parts. The fiber structure causes the individual bandage turns to adhere to each other so that they will not slide out of position. An additional fixing bandage is not necessary with a circular-wrap cushioning bandage.
Rolta is inert to rays and it is sterilizable (in steam at 121 °C).
Rolta can be torn by hand in case the entire roll is not needed for cushioning.
Made of medium bulky, very soft and skin-friendly material, it creates a light under-cushion that is particulary good for patients with very sensitive skin.
Stack Fingersplint from Dr. Paul Koch
Tendon-injuries of phalanges are treated with Stack’s splints in conservative therapy.
The principal of Stack’s splints is based on hyperextension of the injured phalanx. Fixation occurs with band-aid strips or velcro, and so guarantees secure fit.
It consists, among other things, of a thermoplastic acrylic resin plastic, which is perforated multiple times for improvement of wearing-properties, and therefore counter-acts skin macerations. This material can be formed over a flame ( bunsen-burner, etc. ) and also in hot water.
The cap over the phalanx media can be affixed with velcro or band-aid strips.
Even with multiple improvements to the splints, it is recommended to at least cover the injured finger with a tube bandage. Even better is covering the splint with a thin felt-layer, to prevent skin maceration.
