Lead-free, ready-to-use single-use test pack for the daily Bowie-Dick-Test, per DIN EN ISO 11140
Single-use test pack for conducting the daily air removal and steam penetration tests at 134 °C in steam sterilizers with fractional pre-vacuum, as an alternative system for the Bowie-Dick-Test according to DIN EN ISO 11140-3. Indicator Class 2 nach DIN EN ISO 11140-1.
Instructions for use
1.Insert BAG-AutoCheck-Kit II test sheets between the white and green paper plies of the BAGAutoCheck test pack. Write the date on the package’s coversheet.
2.Open tension locks on the receptacle BAG-CCS pressure container, Best.-Nr. 7465, and deposit prepared test pack in it.
3.Lock the tension locks on the BAG-CCS pressure container again.
4.Center the BAG-Bowie-Dick test system on the bottom of the empty sterilization chamber, laying the paper flat.
5.Start the Bowie-Dick cycle. (Program: 3.5 minutes hold time at 134°C).
6.Remove pressure container from the sterilization chamber carefully, as it may still be hot. (if necessary, wear gloves)!
7.Open the two tension locks on the pressure container and take out the test packet. Flip it open and take the BAG-AutoCheck-Kit II test sheets out for evaluation. Let the test pack air out until the next day.
8. Check the BAG-AutoCheck-Kit II for color changes and notate the test results on the sheet. Keep indicator sheet to document the test.
BAG-BD-Check II test passed indication
Complete change of the indicator color from blue to black means that no disqualifying air pockets exist and uniform steam penetration occurred. The sterilizer is functioning properly.
Test not passed
Color change from blue to black is not completely uniform means that an air pocket in the center of the test pack prevented a complete change to black. A light blue or blue-green pale area in the the sheet’s center indicates insufficient sterilization time, temperature or inadequate steam action. Double-check the testing set-up and repeat the Bowie-Dick test.

Practices and clinics must document their infection prevention measures, as required by the medical product operator regulations, but in the first place to ensure that there are no gaps in this regard in the practice’s or clinic’s instrument conditioning programs.

As part of releasing conditioned instruments for use, no gaps may exist in documenting the conditioning cycles may. This can be done manually, of course, however, at the cost of proportional effort by staff. To minimize the amount of time spent on this activity, this product offers automatic documentation for autoclaves of the Profi model series, the Cliniklav 25 as well as the autoclaves of the S class and the MELAtronic ENl. This is accomplished over a standard built-in serial RS 232 interface for connecting the MELAflash CF Card Writer, as follows:
With the MELAflash CF-Card-Writer connected to the serial port of one of a compatible autoclaves, the autoclave uploads its program cycle data to the MELAflash CF-Card inserted into the MELAflash CF Card Writer. To transfer the data to the practice’s PC, the CF card is inserted into the MELAflash card reader, connected to the PC via USB cable. The data records are now ready to be worked on with the MELAview documentation software.
It is equally feasible to hook up the protocol printer, MELAprint42, directly to the autoclave or to connect the autoclave directly to the practice’s PC. Selecting, storing and processing the protocols in that case requires the MELAview documentation software.
The following information is stored on the CF card:
- program selected
- date, time, batch number
- serial number of the practice’s autoclave
- existing vacuum, pressure and temperature
- confirmation of successfully executed program
- unacceptable deviations
Marking the sterilized instruments prior to releasing them and being able to track the instruments used on a patient to a sterilization batch can be simplified by marking the sterilization packages with the MELAdoc label printer. For proof of a successful sterilization in a “Class B” autoclave, MELAG offers a helix testbody system.
Connecting a MELAnet Box to the autoclave’s serial port ties the latter into the practice’s network. Then the sterilization protocols can automatically be uploaded to the practice’s PC.

Which stethoscopes can be disinfected with the device?
All stethoscopes whose chest pieces have a diameter between 46.5 and 47.4 millimeters. The following stethoscopes have been tested successfully for compatibiity with the Stet Clean. Please note: For some models, the chest piece needs to be inserted with the tubing facing sidewards, not up.

Innovative and effective LED UV-C disinfection
The mobile Stet Clean disinfection device serves for disinfecting the chest piece of the stethoscope by means of ultraviolet radiation (UV-C). The rays with a wavelength of 260-290 nm eliminate pathogenous microorganisms, thus ensuring a very thorough disinfection of your diagnostic iinstrument, thus being able to reduce the risk of cross contamination via improperly disinfected stethoscopes. As disinfection is executed without having to add chemical substandces, it is ecologically friendly.
Stet Clean will provide maximum hygiene for your working conditions within a very short timeframe. The application will take only a few minutes so that the work flow is not interrupted and you can quickly move on to your next patient.
Easy to use – maximum protection
The disinfection process will start automatically upon connection of the stethoscope’s chest piece. First push the membrane rim down into the gap, then let the chest piece lock into place at the top. The built-in micro switch will measure the mechanical pressure, the optical sensor will measure the perception of darkness.Only after the double control mechanism confirms the correct placement of the stethoscope, the disinfection process is activated by starting the UV-C radiation.
After only 3 minutes your stethoscope is disinfected. The blue control sensor will shut off together with the UVC LED, the disinfection process is complete. The chest piece can now be removed from the device and your stethoscope is ready for use again. More information about the disinfection process can be found in the instruction manual which is included with the product.
The battery can simply be recharged with the help of the enclosed micro USB cable. While charging, the yellow control signal blinks, once the process is complete the control signal will emit a steady yellow light.

Sterilization quality assured
The compact water treatment system MELAdem 40 delivers high-quality demineralized water which the autoclaves need to produce steam. Attached directly to Vacuklav and Euroklav, it automatically feeds them “aqua dem” to use in sterilizations.
Fresh aqua dem is best used for spot-less instruments and to extend the autoclave’s useful life. MELAdem 40 also makes sense even for traditional autoclaves using the water-circulation system, because their built-in water storage tanks can be directly filled with aqua dem using the optional MELajet spray gun.
Naturally, MELAdem 40 can be deployed wherever good water quality is indispensable; for example, where x-ray films must be developed and cast materials must be mixed, as well as for use in steam injectors or laboratory work.
