Calibration inspection required for medical scales!
All medical scales employed for diagnostic and for therapeutic purposes basically must pass inspection under the MPG (Medical Products Law). Doctors practicing in Germany may only use legally calibrated medical scales in their practices.
But, in contrast to hospitals, follow-up calibration inspections are not required. Neonatal scales used by midwives are not subject to calibration inspection.
